Just wanted to say "hi"

In line at Cafe Rio two men were behind us. One served a Spanish speaking mission. Know how we know this? He ordered in Spanish and called the server hermano. Very loud and public.

Jameson and I sat down at a table next to three girls and continued eating our meal. We saw the guy walk by us and suddenly we heard "HI! I was just walking by, I wanted to say 'hi'. What are your names?....Woah! Those are all really pretty. Where are you from?... Cool! I'm from California. What? You could tell? You thought I was from Provo cause of my style...? What were you talking about?... Gospel stuff? Cool! I just returned from my mission, a year ago...

Jameson and I were just in shock! I've heard of things like this, but I have never seen it. We were surpressing laughter and listening as best we could without being too obvious. Then, we heard the best line of the entire conversation.

"Can we get back to our meal now?" The guy fumbled so the girl asked "is that rude?". He said it was fine, but emphasized... again... that "I just wanted to say 'hi!'.

Points for trying? Umm... Congress is still in session.
