Hate is a strong word

So, as my friends just barely pointed out, everyone has different preferences. And seeing as how it's 10:00 (which means Seinfeld just came on) and I need something else to simultaneously occupy my time, I'm going to share with you the things that make me weirder than everyone else. Yes, these are the things that I hate which everyone else in the entire world enjoys.

-Ranch dressing
-Horror movies
-Everything related to Lady Gaga
-Call of Duty
-Any sports rivalry
-Diet Coke
-The Office (past season 4)
-JANE AUSTIN
-iPads
-Megan Fox
-Sam Worthington
-Die Hard 2
-American Idol
-Metallica
-Hipsters
-Skinny Jeans
-Leggings
-Any comedy in the vein of Wedding Crashers, The Hangover, Hot Tub Time Machine, etc.
-Seth Rogen
-Talking baby commercials
-Almost every rapper besides Kanye West
-Apple products, services, and employees
-Swimming
-And, Hugh Jackman

Nah, just kidding. Hugh Jackman is actually fairly entertaining.

Bum knee

So on Sunday our friend Tiny had us down to Provo to watch the Eagles lose to the Falcons. We actually went down to watch them win, but you know how it goes. Anyway, about a half hour before we go home I notice my knee is acting a little funny when I walked on it. I thought nothing of it because I had had this sort of feeling once or twice before and went on my merry way.

Enter Monday, which also happens to be my first day of work this week. My knee hurt. It felt weird, not exactly a pain but had a slight pain element to it. It almost felt like something tweaking or oscillating. On the inside of my left knee, more toward the back. Not a normal place for that. Anyway, at work I'm always on my feet. Always. For a 12 hour shift.

It was a party.

Luckily, I was on a one to one with a patient (basically stay at arms reach all the time so that they don't endanger themselves or others) so I got a couple of hours sitting while he napped. Luckily in the day room so I could watch ESPN.

Tuesday comes and my knee feels a little better, but not stupendous. I was able to go home a little early (after 9 hours) so I got to let my leg rest. Yay!

Today I finally buckled and bought a knee brace. It has been acting up a little more again, and hopefully this will help stabilize it or whatever to help the healing of whatever it might be. If it keeps up for a few more days I may get it checked out. Hopefully it doesn't though...I just signed up for my benefits and I don't think my insurance has kicked in yet. Sigh.

By the way I'm well on my way into starting grad school applications. I'm actually applying to Michigan (I think I heard Aleece's scream from here) but also Ohio State. I'm sure a universe somewhere will implode from this fact alone.

Chloe Fix

The first video is of Chloe and her best friend Leah. She loves this puppy! Every bark and whine Leah makes sends Chloe into fits of laughter. It was absolutely darling! Chloe even loves being attacked all over her face by Leah's eager tongue. The mother inside me freaks out, but she loves it so much that I let it happen and just wipe off her face after.

The second video is Chloe and Jameson vying for who has the most important thing to say and who can say it the loudest. We'll get some movin' and groovin' videos up soon. I dont think y'all would believe how all over the place she is.

Hairy Situation

Today it was my intention to have my hair curly. Jameson was off at work, Chloe was entertaining herself and I had decided the day before it would be fun to do something I hadn't done in a while and give Jameson a pretty lady to come home to.

Well, I went about curling my hair. And you know what? It was working perfectly. My hair hasn't curled that readily in ages.
Bottom layer: done
Middle layer: done
Right side: done

Hmmm... I wonder what time it is. Old family friend was picking me up for church you see. I play the prelude music in Relief Society and they like me to be there 5 minutes early. She said she would be there at 8:35.

What time is it?
8:35.

I grab Chloe, put her in her car seat, throw my music book in her diaper bag and just as I'm clicking the last click and zipping the last zipper.... knock knock.

So there I am. Half my hair curled. The other half slick and straight as can be. I threw my hair up in a ponytail and told myself no one would be the wiser of my failed hair. I got through most of the service when my head started to hurt so I pulled it down and told myself no one would pay any attention to my hair or even see it.

Sacrament meeting gets going and I hear a "Is Rebecca Ranck here today?" I try to show I'm there and finally they ask me to stand up. Stand...up... My failed hair showing proudly, my daughter crawling over our sweet family friend I'm sustained in.

Messy hair, crawling baby, no one can say they weren't warned today what they are getting themselves into.
