Midterms

So I have officially received the full college experience. That's right, yesterday I failed my first exam. I was surprised, annoyed, and frankly quite disappointed. I then realized that I need to get into grad school this go around if I want to keep the GPA I sent them. And then I took a nap.

Anyway, I'm not going to say it was a party, but I wasn't super depressed. Becky surprised me with some amazing dinner and made some caramel corn per my request and then as she was praying she said thanks that I had "received [my] full college experience and failed an exam."

I think she was just glad that my ego was knocked down.

The best there's ever been

So last night around 5 AM I was talking to my friend Eric at work about ways to make money so I wouldn't have to work at Target anymore.

"So...I'll get a violin and pretend that I can't play very well. The devil, who will be fooled, will come and make a wager. I'll then play to my full ability and beat him in his own game, upon which I'll receive a golden fiddle. I'll be able to sell it and never have to work again!"

"You're going to pretend you can't play the fiddle?"

"Yeah. To lure the devil into a false sense of security."

"Your plan is to lure the devil into a false sense of security."

"That's right."

"Best. Plan. Ever."

One month!

Well it's been almost two weeks! The longer I don't blog, the less I seem to have to say. It's weird, but anyway.

Things here are excellent. Chloe is a month old today! She seems so big already. She's almost outgrowing her newborn clothes. Maybe? I don't know. They're getting smaller on her. She's actually sleeping on my chest right now...so adorable.

So Nik and Niki had their baby yesterday...Zoey Cecelia. Congratulations to them! I remember how it felt...those first days were a blur.

I love my life. It's insanely stressful...I took three midterms this week and I have another next week. But I just requested to graduate in April and drop my minor! We'll see how that works. I really hope it pulls through.

Anyway. I don't have much to say. I'll start updating more often and maybe I'll write better in the future. I hope you all have a great day!

Asking Miss Chloe

Last night I asked Chloe a lot of things.

Why are you awake right now?
Why did you wake up if you aren't hungry?
Why are you suddenly eating longer?
Why are you spitting up everything you've eaten?
Why did you just blow out of your diaper immediately after I changed you?
Why aren't you falling back asleep?

To this last question, I asked her several times. I bounced her, rocked her, walked her, cuddled her, fed her, played her Norah Jones, etc.

Her answer? I set her down to readjust my sitting position, 10 seconds later I look at her face and realize she is falling asleep. All I had to do was let her lie down.

I'm game!

She is so much fun! She has this blue steel kiss face that I haven't been able to catch on film yet that is too cute for words! And you can always tell when she is trying to poop cause she gets really serious and her eyes get all shifty. As if to say to any onlooker: "What!? I'm not doing anything!"

And best of all? She sleep talks :)

Business as usual

So having a daughter is probably the most incredible thing in the world. It's been a very interesting time the past couple weeks. Becky's mom was here until Wednesday and that was SO helpful. She is amazing. Thank you!

Chloe is doing great! We had her two week appointment today and everything is normal. She has started tummy time today and almost flips up on her side already. She is not a fan of being on her tummy and this girl is going to be trouble soon haha. She is the cutest thing ever.

So can I tell you how hard it was to get motivated to do anything productive this week? After having a baby and taking care of her and Becky I did not want to go to school or work. I got over it and I'm doing great now, but still. It was tough.

Sorry this is so discombobulated; it's been an interesting day. I just wanted to get something up so you have at least something to read. Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend.
