Father's Day

First, Happy Father's Day to my wonderful Father, Father-in-law and new Father Jameson!

To my Daddy:
Thank you for all the sweet (and not sweet) memories in my memory bank. Thank you for the bedtime stories. Thank you for all the whisker kisses, both warranted and attacked. Thank you for dropping everything to come help me after my first car accident. Thank you for quitting your job in California to stay with us in Colorado because I wanted you there for me. Thank you for all the life lessons you taught me, like dont make stuff up. Thank you for the lessons you continue to teach me, like loving the moment you're in. Thank you for coming to cheer me on at my swim meets. Thank you for coming down the stairs to scare away my boyfriend after he stayed pass curfew. Thank you for teaching me how to be a thinker instead of a follower. Thank you for loving so much that I never doubted it.

To my Daddy-in-law:
Thank you for loving me like a daughter. Thank you for all the book suggestions. Thank you for loving watching silly things like Avatar. Thank you for inviting me to PF Changs with the family after only dating Jameson for a week. Thank you for not telling your family Jameson and I got engaged so we could all laugh when Aunt June didnt realize what my ring meant. Thank you for taking 24 hours of your trip to the US to give a Father's Blessing. Thank you for loving Jameson through all the hard times. Thank you for supporting him through all the good times. Thank you for your cheerful spirit. Thank you for being the kind of father Jameson aspires to become.

To my husband, and new Daddy:
Thank you for wanting a little girl first. Thank you for wanting to read bedtime stories to Chloe every night. Thank you for hold her during bath time so she can wiggle more. Thank you for wanting to be the one to pull her out of the crib so you can watch her wake up. Thank you for wanting to pinch her so you can walk with her during church. Thank you for reading scriptures with her every day. Thank you for pushing the boundaries by throwing her higher than I would or letting her roll when I wouldn't. Thank you for wanting to be the kind of Daddy your daughter will always look up to.

To all the Daddys in my life:
Thank you for being the strong Priesthood leaders you are. For being good examples of what a Daddy should be. Becoming a mother has instilled in me an even deeper gratefulness for strong and loving fathers. For all the good times, hard times, you are loved through them all.

Some people find this song cheesy or over done. Personally, this is my favorite Daddy-Daughter song.

  1. This is one of the sweetest father's day posts. I am really happy to have you as a daughter-in-law (although as far as my heart goes, it would just skip the "in-law" part).
