First Time Back

Today Jameson and I went back to the temple for the first time since we've been married. I got butterflies again and pretty nervous. I got lost, didnt know where to go once changed, had to ask a woman where the chapel was, tripped up the stairs on my dress. Yeah... I took ballet as a child.

But, beyond the embarrassing feelings, I was at peace there. When we were sitting there and I was peppering Jameson with question about what I needed to do and what not, the temple worker came over and asked if we'd like to be the witness couple. My first time back. Neither of us have done it before. He tried to explain that it was my second session ever when the Sister behind him piped up and said, "No better time to learn!"

And there we are :) Front and center. It was a really neat experience. I am glad we did it. My knees were bouncing with excitement, I was perspiring enough to hydrate a third world country. And I loved it. I had this glowing feeling that we were supposed to be there at that time, in that session and being there the way we were. It was an overwhelming feeling.

After we went back to the dressing rooms, I was standing there folding my clothes up when a woman walked in and gave me this smile I recognized... "I dont know where I am supposed to go. This is my first time back since I got married... can you help me out?" I GOT TO HELP SOMEONE! It was so nice :) To know something.

God Bless and go to the temple!

  1. This was the perfect post to read after I just got home from attending the temple myself. It's such a wonderful place. I think it only gets better every time I go. :)

  3. Nice. Things always have a way of working out for our own development if we allow them.
